How
the diet works and what to expect from it!
Your
questions answered:
Before
booking an appointment
The single
most important thing is your complete commitment to the diet. You will be given a questionnaire by the clinic, which
you must complete, to determine your suitability for the diet. In addition Claudia Louch will:
- Establish your and your family
health case history.
- Hence, it is important to bring
with you a list of all conventional medications and supplements or other non allopathic medications you may be taking.
- If you have done recent blood
tests through a qualified practitioner please bring along a copy if possible.
- Your anthropometrical measurements
will be taken, which include: height, weight, waist and hip circumference, BMI, Body Fat Percentage, Blood Pressure, Blood
Oxygen and a comprehensive urine test will also be performed. All of this is an ancillary part of the consultation.
Other investigations may be performed on site if deemed necessary depending on your health status.
- All patients will be referred
by Claudia Louch for a comprehensive blood test, if not done so recently by your health practitioner (the test must not be
older than 6 months), to assess your health status.
- Once all the data is collated
and your suitability has been assessed, Claudia will customise a diet plan for you.
What else to know:
Claudia will agree a target weight with you and calculate from there how long it will
take to reach your optimum weight. You will also be given a customised medicinal plant tincture to support you throughout
the diet.
A 2-weekly follow-up appointment is required throughout the duration of the diet. This is
necessary to not only guarantee the success of the diet, but to monitor your health status and talk through any
issues, which may have arisen, as well as re-take all your anthropometrical measurements on a regular basis.
After 1-month Claudia will change your diet plan for you and perhaps repeat a blood test if necessary.
Only upon successful completion of the diet, which includes regular attendances to
your follow-up appointments and achieved target weight , will you receive a maintenance diet for life.
How much will I loose within 2 weeks?
The norm for females is 3kg to 5kg (6.6 - 11 Pounds) within 2 weeks. The rate of weight-loss
may vary depending very much on your commitment to the diet. Men loose usually slightly more and can achieve, depending on
their initial body weight, up to 8kg (17.6 Pounds) in 2 weeks. A steady rate of weight-loss can be maintained throughout the
diet if the diet plan is followed as advised, as each diet is customised for the patient and makes sure that all macro- and
micronutrients are being supplied to the patient on a daily basis, which prevents your body from going into an emergency mode.
This is the reason for which most diets don't really work on a long term basis. Of course, if
food intake is restricted you will loose weight, but the moment you start to eat normally the weight is regained easily.
The reason for this is that most diets don't look at the right composition of the diet for you and your metabolism/health
status. If the body is starved of vital nutrients it will cling on and store every bit of energy it can to be prepared for future
'starvation' periods.
However, if a calorie restricted diet provides you with all the macro- and micronutrients you
require, you will loose the extra body fat at a steady pace. Your body weight is then permanently maintained by providing
you with food guidelines for life: These guidelines are composed of a list of foods you should have 70% of the time during
the week and foods to have only occasionally.
The diet does not restrict any food groups at all as it is designed to improve your health. The
Set-Point-Diet is not a fad-diet but based on sound scientific principles, providing the human body with all the nutrients
it requires.
What if I am a vegetarian or vegan or have any other personal food restrictions?
As each diet is customised for the patient it is possible to tailor the diet to your dietary
preferences.
Is there anything else I should know?
All your questions will be discussed with you during the first and future follow-up appointments.
You will be also given with a diet a fact-sheet, which will address all important points.
