Claudia Louch obtained a BSc Honours degree in Phytomedicine (Plant based Medicine) and is a fully registered member of the College of Practitioners of Phytotherapy.Claudia was offered a studentship/bursary by King's College London  at the world renowned Guy's, King's and St Thomas School of Biomedical & Health Sciences, the Department of Pharmacology & Therapeutics, for a Masters Degree in conventional Drug Discovery. During this course she undertook her Masters Project at the Immuno-Pharmacology Department of a major Medicine Research Company in the UK.

Claudia chose to continue her postgraduate research at King's College London at the School of Biomedical & Health Sciences and the Department of Nutrition and Dietetics to study for a second Masters Degree in Human Nutrition. Claudia developed a strong interest in childhood and adult obesity and patients with eating disorders during this time.
Claudia continued her professional development at the University of Leeds whilst completing a course in Clinical Nutrition, approved by the British Dietetic Association. She is still involved in research of Allergic Diseases at Imperial College London.

Claudia founded her clinicin 2005 and practices from her own clinic in Mayfair London. She is a member of the UK Nutrition Society (RNutr), the College of Practitioners of Phytotherapy and the British Association for the Study of the Liver, Royal Anthropological Institute,  as well as Member of the NHS Directory of C&A Practitioners.

Claudia's knowledge is deeply rooted in medical and nutritional science as well as cutting edge pharmacology and drug discovery, which puts her into a class of her own. Her immense knowledge of natural precursors (medicinal plant science) to conventional drugs and the effects on those on the human body allows her, in her capacity as a phytomedical practitioner (practitioner of plant based medicine), to dispense and prescribe customised phytomedcines to her patients if required and appropriate.

As a conventional pharmacologist she is also able to advise patients of potential interactions between plant based and allopathic medicines and on the side-effect of conventional medicines alone, which makes Claudia a unique practitioner in her field, who is able to cross over and bring together the boundaries of natural and conventional medication to the benefit of her patients.
Years of scientific laboratory practice in academia and medical research, as well a years of experience in clinical practice and diagnostic skills, are reflected in her cutting edge practice and make her a leading practitioner of nutritional and phytomedical science.

Claudia uses the latest diagnostic tools and laboratory tests to understand fully the health status of each patient prior customising a diet and uses the same tools to monitor and support each patient throughout the diet. Claudia is very happy and accustomed to communicate with the patients' GP or health-specialist if this is required.
Claudia's scientific expertise is much in demand as the many articles in national daily newspapers and magazines can testify in the PR section on our website. Claudia featured also as the chosen nutritionist on the BBC programme the 'Supersizers'.

Claudia's interest lies in malnutrition, that is over-nutrition and under-nutrition, which accounts for excess health costs of £10 billion each year in the United Kingdom. Obesity is clearly a “headline” item because of its visible prevalence and personal, clinical and societal costs, especially amongst younger people. In Europe and in the United States, nearly two thirds of men are either overweight or clinically obese and this contributes one-fifth to one-quarter of the risk of stroke, hypertension, heart attack and diabetes, in addition to the emerging risk of  non-alcoholic fatty liver disease.

The clinic was founded in 2005 when Claudia decided to "go public" with her knowledge of cutting edge science, which ranges from conventional pharmacology and drug discovery to clinical nutrition and plant based medicine.

The response was immediately overwhelming. Starting initially from small premises in Chelsea, she runs now her own clinic in London's fashionable Mayfair.

Claudia contributes also to many national newpapers and magazines and featured recently as the BBC's Nutritionist on the program 'The Supersizers'. Claudia's patients come from all over the world to her London Clinic, following the huge success of her Set Point Diet.
